WindLight allows pilots and air traffic controllers to train under real-world visibility conditions. In real settings, cloud cover, haze, sun glare, and myriad other factors can hinder visibility at critical times. But with a WindLight-powered simulator, nearly any condition can be simulated and planned for. Shown below are various times of day and haze settings, along with NVG viewing.

Most water systems are rendered using reflection of the 3D scene. By rendering the scene correctly, WindLight gives these reflections a photorealistic appearance. WindLight can also be run on the water itself, giving it proper coloring and attenuation.

WindLight interacts with particle systems flawlessly. Modulative and additive particle effects, such as snow, rain, and dust clouds, blend onto the WindLight rendering to faithfully reproduce poor visibility conditions. Shown below are rainfall, blizzard, and dust storm conditions.
